Centennial Growth Spaces

  • The Centennial Phytotron has 10 BSL2 level greenhouses that are located on the fifth floor of the Plant Science Building. Temperatures in the air-conditioned greenhouses can be maintained at any point between 18 and 40ºC. Irrigation is automated and customizable to each project. Each greenhouse is equipped with programmable shade and blackout curtains.

  • PERCIVAL CHAMBERS

    Chambers are equipped with CO2 and humidity controls.

    LOW TEMPERATURE

    LT-105: These chambers are equipped with multicolor LEDs and range in temperature from -4 to 40C. There are four LT-105 chambers and each has 16 sq ft of growing space.

    LT-41: These chambers are equipped with multicolor LEDs and range in temperature from -4 to 40C. There are five LT-41 chambers and each has 12 sq ft of growing space.

    STANDARD

    AR-41: There are three AR-41 chambers and each has 12 sq ft of growing space. They range in temperature from 10 to 40C.

    TISSUE CULTURE


    CU-30L2: There are six CU-30L2 chambers and each has 4 sq ft of growing space. They range in temperature from 10 to 40C.

    WALK-IN CHAMBERS

    There are four walk-in chambers and each has 160 sq ft of growth space. Walk-in chambers range in temperature between 4 to 40C.

  • The Biocontainment laboratory is a controlled-environment facility for working with and containing plant diseases and insects.  With BSL3 permitting we can accommodate plant-specific select agents and pathogens that are not currently present in the United States. The 1000 sq ft lab is accompanied by an attached 1150 sq ft greenhouse.
